How to confirm a court date
- Find the court of filing — the county and court level (district, superior, circuit, justice, or municipal).
- Open that court’s own website from the state directory and look for “calendar”, “docket”, or “case search”.
- Search by case number if you have it. Name searches are often restricted or incomplete.
- Call the clerk of court to confirm the date, time, and courtroom before travelling.
Hearing dates move. Continuances, reassignments, and remote appearances are common. A calendar
page can be a day or more out of date — the clerk’s office is the authoritative source.
If the person is in custody
Transport, video appearance, and hearing schedules for someone in jail or prison are coordinated by the facility and the court together. The facility can usually confirm whether a transport is scheduled.
