Only the agency’s copy is current. Registry records change as people move, register, or are removed. Commercial “offender lookup” sites often republish stale data. Confirm anything you find against the official page linked here before acting on it.

Registries publish this information for public safety. Every jurisdiction restricts what may be done with it.

Before you use anything you find:
  • Using registry information to harass, threaten, intimidate, or harm anyone is a crime in most states, and can also expose you to civil liability.
  • Registry data may not be used to make decisions about employment, housing, credit, insurance, or benefits. Those checks are governed by separate laws and require a proper background screening process.
  • Names and dates of birth repeat. Confirm identity on the official record before drawing any conclusion about a specific person.
  • Absence from a registry does not mean a person has no record, and inclusion does not describe current risk.
  • If you believe a listed person is out of compliance, or you feel unsafe, contact local law enforcement rather than approaching them.
